Last Night I Smiled...

At the little things that we've seen along the way over the past few weeks... I smiled at the time we've shared as a family, and the time that we've shared with old friends and new friends... Friends who live in far away places but who love and value life in the same way we do... As it turns out, our French friends, 'The Frenchies' as we affectionately refer to these dear old friends of ours, don't mind a bottle of champagne or two - and in France the bottles come extra large - and so I smiled that a couple of nights ago we shared a couple of extra large bottles of champagne, right here in the French Alps where they live... (Needless to say, my smile wasn't so wide the next day) but c'est la vie when you live in France...
What an inspiration it is to be exposed to new things and sometimes to be exposed to old things too... To see the world in all of its wonder and to see aspects of it that you never noticed before. I guess as we grow, what we see changes, we notice the little things that pertain to the stage of life we're in at that moment. And so, voila, here are some little things that have been making me smile...

I love that you've included a photo of a laundromat... I spend a month each year in NYC and quite enjoy my time-out there with a coffee and a good book at the laundromat, so it made me smile.

How exciting to be at the French Alps! I've trekked around Mont Blanc through France, Italy and Switzerland back into Chamonix in Autumn and it was one of the most amazing journeys of my life. Even more memories...

Thanks for the smiles :)

Hi Shannon,

I would like to give you the "Stylish Blogger Award" for your beautiful and so inspiring blog!

How this award works is that it's passed on from blogger to blogger, so I received the award from someone and I pass on the award to others. Part of this award is to write 7 things about yourself (on your blog post) and pass this award to 15 other recently discovered blogs you think deserves this award too.

You can see my post and the link for the award here: http://myblackbook.free.fr/

Britta

Bonjour Shannon
I'm all about the small things that make me smile and, for me, that's all the little things that make a house a home hence my blog.
Having said that, Paris makes me break out in a pretty wide grin and laundrettes practically leave me drooling when travelling.
