Shop Focus

Anthropologie has got it all right, with an incredible shop fitting including tin buckets to display door knobs, green moss lining display shelves and oven mits stuffed inside vintage crates (and not to mention absolutely gorgeous products). I am blown away by the creativity their team puts into the stores and always walk in amazed and leave inspired. Just what a store should do...

I would give my right arm to visit an Anthropologie store. Online and ridiculous shipping will have to do until then...

WHY can't Australia get on board with this? Closest thing I have found is Seed Femme.

Thanks for sharing!

For me, Anthro is indeed a place for inspiration, but not for buying. Too many of their offerings are (poorly) made in China.

they are always bang on perfect with their merchandising. they really make shopping such a tactile enjoyable experience - I think if more Aussie retailers put as much effort into their retail spaces they wouldn't be losing out as much to online rivals..

I agree with you babymac I would give anything to visit one of these stores...my husband is visiting US in July and I am currently educating him on what to take pics of in store and trying to convince him to lug back curtains and doorknobs back in his suitcase.....!

its a case of grass is always greener on the other side, been there, seen it, bought nothing, papaya in Sydney is heaps better.

Hi Shannon, I'm currently living in England and am thrilled that I now have access to Anthro...after years of receiving interesting bits n pieces via my sister when she would visit their stores in U.S. Every time I go into London I drop in and usually get some shots off for my blog...I understand that the Regent Street store has a full-time visual arts department 'out the back'...their imagination and ingenuity is astounding!
