Tea Time....

Tea tastes all the better when consumed from a porcelain cup, don't you find? I have two favourite cups to consume my tea from - my Jasper Conran for Wedgewood designed peacock teacup (in shades of greens and blue, of course!) and a small but sweet cup and saucer given to me by my mother on my wedding day. This one is all white - but somehow it's size, shape and the fact that it's porcelain makes for a lovely cuppa. I also love the vintage kind and particularly loved this cup and saucer. I imagine this lovely set would serve tea to perfection.

I agree, and I believe it tastes even better in vintage than modern porcelain. Just like this set.

But what IS the best way to remove manky old tea stains from a porcelain cup?

Try a little bi-carb soda Lexy B, works every time.

I love tea cups. Every girl I know gets one for their fifth, tenth & 21st bithdays. They grower finer as they age. My Goddaughter Hailey's almost 8 and refuses to drink her tea from anything but the Wedgewood we found at a tag sale!!!
Thanks for sharing you lovely cups Shannon.
Peace & ice cream.

My grandmother-inlaw always serves tea in china cups and the taste is superior by far!

Seeing your cup reminds me of some little Austrian cups my parents have, we used to use them on christmas day, sadly only a few remain but they are so pretty. I wonder if I might be allowed to have them one day! Thankyou for the memory jog.

Can anyone explain why tea tastes better when someone else makes it. My whole life I have drunk tea and I still can't make a decent cup of tea for myself!!!

Hi Little Snoring,
I'm the opposite - I have to make the tea for myself otherwise it just doesn't taste the same. There's just nothing worse than when a cup of tea isn't just right...

This is such a nice image - it could even convert a coffee-holic like myself to the delights of tea-drinking!
