Bright Laura...

I have a soft spot for Laura Ashley - the gorgeous homewares store filled to the brim with chintz happiness and florals galore. They remind me of my time passed - of days spent basking in old English country inns and my aunties house in Sydney. There's something very comfortable about florals and chintz - they feed the soul - they are feminine and unabashedly girly. And so, I was very surprised when these pics from the latest at Laura Ashley arrived in my inbox. Contemporary colours, shapes and styles, in a mix of textures and groove. This was not the Laura Ashley of old. In fact, this girl is as modern as can be. And I love it... Good on you Laura for giving us such bright and fun colours, with a mix of Laura patterning of old. These designs are as fresh as can be...

Hi Shannon,
I have been reading your blog for a long time but today I had to comment on the lovely range by Laura Ashley. The colours just jump at you on a dreary winters day. Funny that I have just picked up 2 sets of quilt covers and sheets with the same colour tones?!
Great minds think alike, you are right about the groovy bit.
Regards, Sue

Hi! Glad I stopped by...what a treat. Great images. And, I can't believe that those fabrics are Laura Ashley! They certainly don't look like the befrooms and dresses of the 80's!! I just adore the room in that first image.
